Governance Essentials – Chief and Council Training
Empowering Governance: Building Stronger Communities Together
Target Audience
New and existing Chief and Councils and key individuals in management/administration.
Governance Essentials is designed to help understand the Council’s roles, responsibilities, functions, and establishes clarity between the administration and Council. Building on a strong understanding of the needs of the community, the program helps Council members to recognize the importance of a strong, well-developed strategic action plan, and how to evaluate overall organizational performance to ensure they are meeting the needs of the community that they represent.
This program is designed to help participants: understand their roles and responsibilities as Chief and Council, how to address community concerns, how to conduct business through Council meetings, and learn strategic planning fundamentals.
We all learn differently. At the core, Boreala Management’s design is inclusive and considers a whole host of participant needs and preferences to ensure a psychologically safe and optimal learning environment. We incorporate activities for experiential learning, inquiry exercises for reflection, guidelines for conceptualization, and simple tools (handouts) for applying the content in the workplace.
