Facilitation Techniques

Equip your team with the necessary tools to organize structured meetings

and explore facilitation approaches to enhance effective decision-making, build consensus, and lead community consultations.

Target Audience

Everyone who facilitates group discussions, workshops, meetings, and training sessions to ensure productive outcomes and effective communication among participants.

Effective facilitation can be a powerful tool in helping groups come to consensus, to own outcomes and feel included by respectfully allowing for multiple, diverse voices and opinions throughout the process. This practical program incorporates meeting structure planning and facilitation approaches with an emphasis on effective decision-making and consensus-building.

This program is designed to help participants: select meeting mediums and channels, increase their confidence in working in hybrid environments, resolving conflicts and provide the opportunity to explore different techniques for various partnering contexts.

We all learn differently. At the core, Boreala Management’s design is inclusive and considers a whole host of participant needs and preferences to ensure a psychologically safe and optimal learning environment. We incorporate activities for experiential learning, inquiry exercises for reflection, guidelines for conceptualization, and simple tools (handouts) for applying the content in the workplace.

  • The different roles of leadership facilitators play and the reasons why they are essential to guiding discussions
  • Characteristics of an effective facilitator and how to empower members to assume decision-making power
  • The 4-step facilitation plan to maximize the session’s impact
  • Approaches for preparing and structuring meetings, short or more complex, and strategies to navigate sessions in-person, hybrid, or virtual environments
  • To navigate conversations with difficult behaviors and strategies to resolve conflicts
